The indigenous setups like the meeting points of the elders are useful in regards to sensitizations and awareness. We mostly find women under the shades darning bead materials as well as making their skin and tides materials and youths were found dancing and singing together. The indigenous setup engagements assists a lot to empower poor people and impart them knowledge which is greatly useful to have control over their own decisions on development by understanding their role to, and reinforce, work to build accountable and responsive government institutions that can meet the needs of poor people.
EPOK celebrated together with other organizations the 16 Days of Gender Activism. The objective was to increase responsiveness of men to women involvement in decision making processes and to create a space for Samburu girl child to explore her dreams away from diverse vulnerability i.e. child marriages, child beading practice, teen pregnancies, FGM/C etc.
Held Radio talk-shows to educate community on need to adopt the modern concepts of environment conservation and gave views on the importance and setbacks of the indigenous conservation.
